Handmade stoneware art ceramic pottery sugar jar – iron red with white ash twist item 3888

High-fired Cone10-11 ornate ceramic stoneware pottery jar. High-fired to 2350 degrees in a homemade kiln in a gas reduction-type atmosphere. Glossy, handmade layers of flowing glazes. Clean finish. High-end individually made pieces masterfully thrown on a pottery wheel. Artist signature is represented as a traditional potter’s “chop” (hand-carved stamped frog).

Lidded. Great for holding sugar and other small items.

The twisted form is made from an edge of a wooden ruler. The vessel is thrown on the pottery wheel and then an edge of a 12” ruler is used to impress an indentation diagonally from the base to rim. The layers of homemade glazes flow over and into the crevasse.

Approximately 7″ tall x 4” wide.
