Handmade ceramic stoneware pottery centerpiece vase – Small purple twisty vase – item 2920

High-fired Cone10-11 ceramic stoneware pottery. High-fired to 2350 degrees in a homemade kiln in a gas reduction-type atmosphere. Glossy, handmade layers of flowing glazes. Clean finish. High-end individually made pieces masterfully thrown on a pottery wheel. Artist signature is represented as a traditional potter’s “chop” (hand-carved stamped frog).

Durable.

The twisted form is made from an edge of a wooden ruler. The vessel is thrown on the pottery wheel and then an edge of a 12” ruler is used to impress an indentation diagonally from the base to rim. The layers of homemade glazes flow over and into the crevasse.

Perfect flower vase or decorative shelf piece. Small opening at top.
